Three-star wide receiver recruit Majay Thompson has committed to the Florida State Seminoles, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. Thompson chose the Seminoles over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Thompson was a major target for the Bulldogs prior to his FSU commitment. Rivals even projected that Thompson would commit to Georgia.
Standing at 5-foot-11, 181 pounds, Thompson could be one of the most consistent targets in the Seminoles’ offense in 2027. The route runner has excellent speed and has been a big play threat throughout his time at Crest High School in Shelby, North Carolina. Thompson would have been an excellent fit at Georgia if he ultimately chose Georgia over FSU.
Thompson is an elite route runner with excellent speed and athleticism. He is ranked as the No. 69 wide receiver and the No. 628 overall player from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Rankings. Thompson is ranked as the No. 17 player out of North Carolina.
The elite receiver is the 11th commitment for Florida State in the 2027 recruiting class. The Seminoles have just the No. 57 recruiting class in the country.
Georgia has remained in the mix for some of the top overall players in the 2027 class despite missing out on Thompson. Four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole recently added Georgia to his top three schools, while three-star defensive lineman Antwan McKoy has announced his commitment to UGA.
