The Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality Hassan Mako has expressed deep grief following a house fire in Sebokeng, Zone 12, where a mother and her three children died in the early hours of Saturday.

Mako visited the bereaved family in Ward 33 alongside members of the Mayoral Committee.
He assured the family of full municipal support, including counselling and social relief services. The municipality has urged residents to avoid speculation while investigations continue.
Emfuleni Mayoral Spokesperson Mphikeleli Msibi says officials are engaging with the family and relevant departments.
“We are deeply shaken by the loss, no words can truly capture the pain of death in such a tragic manner. As a municipality, we stand with the Dlamini family in their darkest hour. The executive mayor also wished the surviving family member speedy recovery. The municipality extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and those who are affected by the tragedy.”
