The South African men’s hockey team are one win away from joining the elite FIH Pro League.
The Proteas reached the final of the Nations Cup tournament in Cape Town after a pulsating victory over two-time defending champions, New Zealand, in the semifinals.
The match ended two-all, after which South African goalkeeper, Cullin de Jager, emerged as the hero in the eight-second shoot-out, keeping a clean sheet.
South Africa, winners of the inaugural Nations Cup in 2022, will play France in Saturday evening’s final.
