South Africa’s United Rugby Championship title drought has now reached four seasons.
In a repeat of last season’s final, Irish giants, Leinster, successfully defended their title when they beat a lacklustre Bulls outfit 36-seven in Dublin.
The defending champions dominated proceedings in the first half and capitalised on two Bulls yellow cards to go into halftime 22-nil to the good.
And when they scored first in the second half, the damage was done.
It took the Bulls, who have now lost all four finals they have played in, more than an hour to get on the score sheet.
And the converted try by centre Canan Moodie, one of 16 Springboks in the match-day 23, was their only reward on the night.
The home side eventually outscored their opponents by five tries to one.
