Police say despite the decline in crime in Mpumalanga, stock theft remains a major concern especially in the Siyabuswa region. This emerged from police crime feedback session in Siyabuswa municipal chambers.
Police gave an update to the community on their interventions in addressing crime in the area. This includes increased police visibility.
Provincial police spokesperson Donald Mdluli says, “This season we are in, we have the initiation that is happening and along those, you will find that there are reports of stock theft as some will try and go the other way and buy from the black market. So, we discourage members of the public from engaging in those because once you buy stolen property it encourages those that are committing to continue.”
