A defence witness is expected to give an update on whether or not he’s managed to get legal advice regarding his refusal to testify when the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial resumes in the High Court in Pretoria on Friday morning.
On Monday, Qiniselani Buthelezi said he no longer wished to continue to give evidence. He maintained that investigator Bongani Gininda had written the statement that he read out.
Five men are on trial for the killing of the former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain Senzo Meyiwa in October 2014.
Buthelezi also said he cannot take responsibility for parts of the statement which he did not provide to police.
