In the latest edition of his SEC football head coach rankings, On3’s Chris Low has recently ranked Alabama‘s Kalen DeBoer as the fourth-best head coach in the conference entering the 2026 season.
DeBoer led the Tide to both their first CFP appearance and victory post-Saban era a year ago. The head coach will enter the 2026 campaign with major expectations following last season’s success, and DeBoer will undoubtedly begin the year with a chip on his shoulder.
Per Low’s rankings, DeBoer is listed as the fourth-best coach in the SEC behind Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Texas’ Steve Sarkisian, and LSU’s Lane Kiffin.
DeBoer being ranked fourth in the conference may come as a surprise to some. The head coach has continued to improve throughout each of his first two seasons in Tuscaloosa, and DeBoer will have a plethora of young talent up-and-down the Tide’s roster at his disposal this year.
DeBoer could undoubtedly find himself much higher on the list should the Tide begin to exceed expectations this season, as the head coach will look to shine during year three at Alabama.
