Houston — Wenceel Perez was likely unavailable for the Tigers on Wednesday.
The Tigers’ switch-hitting outfielder had a freak accident in the training room after the 4-2 loss to the Astros on Tuesday night. During his regular postgame workout routine, he was struck in the face by a plyo band.
He was taken for observation last night.
The club is expected to provide an update on his condition after the game.
