Many current and former Duke Blue Devils met together at Coach K’s “K Camp” in late May. There, the current and past Blue Devils combined to draft and coach a roster for a basketball tournament. During this time, current Duke guard Cayden Boozer had the chance to team up with a former NCAA champion, Quinn Cook.
Cook later admitted in a video that he chose Boozer as one of his coaches to mentor the young guard. Cook also said that with many returning players, he expects Boozer and Caleb Foster to be leaders next season.
A four-year Blue Devil point guard and a two-time All-ACC selection, Cook is the right guy to be around Boozer. He also had plenty of NBA experience, winning two championships in five seasons. There he was able to play with some of the best players in league history, winning a title with Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors as well as LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Now, heading into his sophomore season, many are hopeful that Boozer can take what he learned from Cook and progress into one of the strongest guards in the ACC.
