The Balobedu Royal Council says 13 initiation schools have been approved in the Modjadji area of Limpopo.
The schools are expected to open on Friday until the 19th of July 2026.
The council says about 50 applications were submitted by traditional leaders.
There were no initiation schools in Bolobedu last year due to the ongoing traditional leadership dispute.
Royal council spokesperson, Mapula Modjadji, says the approved schools have complied with all the required protocols.
Modjadji says, “We approved all these things. All these applications which were subject to compliance with applicable cultural protocols such as health requirements, each one of those applicants had to follow protocols in accordance with the provincial legislation that governs initiation schools.”
