We’re in the dead of summer and the NFL offseason has slowed down significantly since free agency opened back in March. While most free agents have found a new home or returned to their previous one, there are still lingering players out there hoping for a new contract. Yahoo analyst Scott Pianowski, Justin Boone and Joel Smyth go around the table, sharing which remaining free agent they’d like to see sign with a specific team for fantasy football purposes.

I’m going to take a slightly different angle on this and ask for Keenan Allen to sign anywhere but the Chargers. I have big dreams for what Ladd McConkey can do in a Mike McDaniel offense, especially with the target tree finally streamlined. If Allen were to return to the Chargers, he’d be another mouth to feed but perhaps not good enough to be fantasy viable; he would certainly hurt the upside of McConkey, though. As for a decent landing spot for Allen, how about Miami, where the receiver room is especially thin? — Scott Pianowski
More wide receiver help in South Beach
Deebo Samuel Sr. showed he still has some juice in 2025 with the Commanders. The 30-year-old free agent was a mid-level WR2 with Jayden Daniels on the field and can be a valuable yard-after-the-catch weapon for his next team. With the Dolphins lacking both experience and talent at the receiver position, Samuel could find himself in a role that maximizes his potential and serves as a safety blanket for newly signed QB Malik Willis.

In a small sample of 33 routes last season, Packer WR Christian Watson led the NFL in fantasy points per route and yards per route with Willis at QB. Even if the Dolphins’ passing game is nowhere near the Packers under Willis, the volume can make up for a lack of perfection. If new playcaller Bobby Slowik returns to a high rate of 3-WR sets as he did with the Texans in 2024, Samuel could benefit from a primary slot role as he did in 2025, when he scored the sixth-most fantasy points aligning inside. — Joel Smyth
Another weapon for Lamar Jackson in Baltimore
Entering the offseason, I hoped Baltimore’s front office would make an effort to add a playmaker or two for Lamar Jackson. While they did draft a pair of receivers in Ja’Kobi Lane and Elijah Sarratt, there are no guarantees either middle-round pick will make a significant impact during their rookie campaigns. To make matters worse, the Ravens lost tight end Isaiah Likely in free agency, once again leaving them with a passing attack built around an undersized Zay Flowers and soon-to-be 31-year-old tight end Mark Andrews.
Diggs doesn’t just address a need in this offense — he represents the kind of savvy value signing the organization has made countless times over the years. Even though Diggs will turn 33 years old during the season, there’s no doubt he still has fuel left in the tank fresh off his seventh 1,000-yard effort in the last eight years. The Patriots eased him into the lineup coming off a torn ACL, but from Week 4 on, he was a major piece of their offense, posting five 100-yard games and averaging WR18 fantasy stats over the final 14 weeks of the season. Diggs can help a lot of teams in 2026 and the Ravens are top of that list. — Justin Boone
