After averaging over 20 points per game in each of his last three NBA seasons, Miles Bridges shifted into a more complementary role during the 2025-26 season after the emergence of Kon Knueppel, not to mention the healthy campaigns put together by LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller.
Bridges was once again quite durable, only missing five games throughout the year, four of those due to a suspension picked up after an altercation with the Detroit Pistons. In those games, Bridges averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.4 blocks. While Bridges’ scoring and rebounding numbers were down a touch, it’s worth noting his shift from a second option to a fourth option. Bridges was okay shooting the ball, with averages of 46% from the field and 33.3% from the 3-point line. Turnovers were a big area of improvement for the former Michigan State Spartan, cutting his total by a third from 2.1 to 1.4 per game. Looking ahead to next year, Bridges has one-year remaining on his deal but has already been mentioned in trade talks this summer. This is a sensible idea for the Hornets, considering Bridges is the oldest (28) player in Charlotte’s current core in addition to their needs in the frontcourt.
