The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) says it will seek mayoral candidates beyond its party members ahead of the November local government elections. The party held its National Elections Strategic Retreat in KuGompo City, in the Eastern Cape.
The party’s leadership believes this will open the door for any individual to join the party, and they will be measured by their character in society. The PAC plans to field councillor candidates in all the wards in the country.

“We will be surprising people throughout the country, I can assure you. We will be announcing mayoral candidates. Some of them will not be members of the PAC before the announcement. When we make the announcement, they will be members of the PAC. Once we put them on the ballot, they will be members of the PAC. But wait for the surprise,” says PAC President, Mzwanele Nyhontso.
