The Western Cape High Court has sentenced a 42-year-old man to five life terms and an additional 78 years in prison.
The man has been convicted of a series of sexual offences involving minors aged between nine and 18.
Police spokesperson, Ndakhe Gwala, says the offences were committed between July and September 2022.
“He was arrested and charged on five counts of rape, two counts of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, child pornography, grooming and contravention of the Film and Publication Act. While handing down the sentence, the presiding officer declared the 42-year-old dangerous and a paedophile. He was sentenced to five life terms and an additional 78 years in prison without a possibility of parole.”
