Queen Creek junior shortstop Emma Reynolds has been selected the Gatorade Arizona high school softball Player of the Year.
Reynolds, the sister of Clemson quarterback/center fielder Tait Reynolds, hit .588 with 10 home runs this past season, leading the Bulldogs to the 6A championship game.
She was named by the coaches as the 6A Conference Player of the Year.
The 5-foot-11 Reynolds has maintained a 4.07 grade-point average in her high school career. She has committed to play at Oklahoma.
Gatorade also considers community impact when selected state players of the year in sports.
Reynolds has volunteered in multiple community service inititates through her church.
She led Queen Creek to a 31-2 overall record with a .669 on-base percentage and 1.175 slugging percentage. She had 23 doubles, 15 stolen bases and 34 RBIs. She was a member of the 18-and-under USA Junior Women’s National team that won the WBSC World Cup in October.
