The five-year employment contract of the former Director General of the Department of Social Development, Peter Netshipale, was unlawful and irregular, this is accoording to the findings of a forensic investigation by the law firm Mketsu and Associates.
The law firm was probing the employment contract of Netshipale, who in 2025 had already reached the mandatory 65-year retirement age, but was given a five-year contract.
The head of the law firm Sydwell Mketsu says they have found that former Minister of Social Development Sisisi Tolashe was behind the flouting of the one-year contract that was approved by the Cabinet for Netshipale.
“The then minister is the one who came to this house and confirmed a five-year contract and subsequently said it was a clerical error. So we also did not make a finding against the minister based on the limitation that we could not interview her”, said Mketsu.
