Brown joined the Colts‘ scouting department in 2017, the same year that Chris Ballard took over as general manager. Brown was initially the Colts’ Director of College Scouting before being promoted to Chief Personnel Executive in 2022.
He was a key figure in the Colts’ scouting and draft processes, which included playing an important role in the team’s decision to draft quarterback Anthony Richardson in 2023.
Along with the draft process, in Brown’s role as Chief Personnel Executive, he also worked on the pro scouting side, according to the Indy Star.
In the NIL era of college football, the general manager role at universities has emerged in recent years.
