The African Development Bank (ADB) Group’s 2026 economic outlook report has revealed that the continent has continued to show resilience in the face of geopolitical tensions.
It has been launched on the sidelines of the ADB’s annual meetings in Brazzaville, in the Republic of Congo.
The bank’s economic outlook has painted a grim picture for Southern Africa.
It says growth in the region is set to remain subdued at 2.1% due to higher energy costs, weaker mining and agricultural output, but central African countries will see growth rising due to high demand for oil.
Meanwhile, Congo has announced that African passport holders will travel to the country visa-free from 2027.
