There were some huge performances at the TSSAA spring state championships last week in Murfreesboro and Knoxville.

Annie Prince, Community: Prince struck out 15 batters in the Champions’ 10-1 win over Marion County in the Class 2A softball state title game. Prince walked four and gave up five hits.
Madison Davenport, Eagleville: Davenport allowed four hits in seven innings, surrendering one run in Eagleville’s 2-1 win over McEwen in the Class 1A softball state championship game.
Norah Box, Friendship Christian: Box went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the Commanders’ 13-3 win over Boyd Buchanan in the DII-A softball state tournament quarterfinals.
Ava Lastovka, McEwen: Lastovka struck out nine batters and surrendered one walk in McEwen’s 2-1 loss to Eagleville in the Class 1A softball state championship game.
Aaliyah Varnado, MLK Jr.: Varnado won her fourth 100-meter dash title, with a time of 11.64, and her fourth 200, with a time of 23.84, at the Class AA track and field state championships.
Chyna Rucker-Harris, Pearl-Cohn: Rucker-Harris won the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dash state titles at the Class A track and field state meet. She ran a state meet record time of 11.45 in the 100. Her 23.53 in the 200 set a state meet record and tied a state record. Her 53.06 in the 400 was a state record.
Anna Keeney, Ravenwood: Keeney won the Class AAA long jump state title with a length of 19-02.75 and won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.22.
Toju Williams, Rockvale: Williams won the Class AAA shot put title with a throw of 45-09.50.
Brynn Balturshot, Station Camp: Balturshot was state runner-up in the 1,600-meter run (5:04.69), fourth in the 800 (2:18.93) and third in the 3,200 (11:37.34) to gather 19 points by herself during Station Camp’s three-peat Class AA track and field state championship run.
Alexis Pope, Stewarts Creek: Pope was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs in Stewarts Creek’s 10-0 win over Maryville in the Class 4A softball state championship game.
