When you look back at the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Eastern Conference Finals series loss to the New York Knicks, you can at least say superstar Donovan Mitchell tried.
Monday’s Game 4 loss to the Knicks at home sent the Cavs out of the 2026 NBA playoffs with so many questions to answer for the future. However, Mitchell as the franchise’s foundation isn’t in question.
Mitchell gave it his all during the four-game Knicks sweep, even to the point of giving his team an impassioned speech during a time out. The tough part is that the entire Cavs bench just looks too dejected for it to work.
Mitchell is one of the best players in the NBA, and he clearly wanted to fight to the bitter end. However, his teammates just didn’t seem into it at all. Unfortunately, Mitchell’s fire was probably just too late.

Man, this stinks to see for Mitchell and the Cavs. This video is going to sting for a long, long time in the Land.
