It’s off-season for Ashton Jeanty, and the Las Vegas Raiders running back is looking forward to some treasured downtime with his high school sweetheart.
The 22-year-old, who was the 2025 Sharpie Rookie of the Year, speaks to PEOPLE about his relationship with girlfriend Gabrielle Miller while at Media Row in San Francisco for Super Bowl 2026 earlier this week.
“It’s everything,” he says of having Miller’s support as a new NFL player. “No matter what happens, whether you have a good game, a bad game, they don’t care how much money you make, whatever you do. They just care about the person you are and that you become.”
He tells PEOPLE’s Janine Rubenstein, “So to have that person that you can always come to no matter what is just always special.”
Now, in the off-season, the pair — who met in high school in Texas — will have a “little more time” together. In fact, they just returned from a vacation in Hawaii.
“Just more quality time,” he says of his excitement for this time of year, teasing that the pair love to watch movies together. Miller, he says, “Loves a drama, like a Tubi movie, a dramatic movie.”

“I grew up watching my dad get up early every day for work,” Jeanty says. “I always think about how he was able to do it and if he can do it then I can do it for sure.”
His first NFL season, Jeanty reflects, was “Definitely a tough start, you know, just learning myself in the league and earning my stripes for sure.”
“I think throughout I just kept staying focused and disciplined and stayed rooted in faith,” he concludes.
