Ole Miss football quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is still fighting for another year of eligibility, but he has also seen his 2026 NFL Draft stock rise.
Chambliss’ court hearing for a preliminary injunction against the NCAA’s denial of his medical hardship waiver is set for Feb. 12. He is also awaiting a decision on his appeal of the NCAA’s initial ruling. Chambliss claims respiratory issues kept him off the field at Ferris State in 2022.
If the courts and the NCAA appeals committee rule against Chambliss, he will turn to the NFL draft, where he is expected to be one of the top quarterback prospects due to players like Dante Moore, Arch Manning and Sam Leavitt electing to return to school. The 2026 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
Where is Trinidad Chambliss in mock drafts?
The only major mock draft that includes Chambliss is The Athletic’s by Nick Bumgardner and Scott Dochterman. Their mock draft of the first two rounds has Chambliss going to the Arizona Cardinals at pick No. 34.
ESPN’s Matt Miller did not list Chambliss as a selection in his mock draft of the first two rounds, but he did mention him as an option for the Cleveland Browns at pick No. 24 if they decide to take a quarterback early.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. also doesn’t include Chambliss in his latest mock draft but lists him as a potential selection for the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21 or for the Los Angeles Rams on Day 2.
Where is Trinidad Chambliss ranked as an NFL prospect?
Chambliss is the No. 3 quarterback on Kiper’s big board. Pro Football Focus also ranks him third among quarterbacks and lists him as the No. 67 prospect overall.
CBS Sports ranks Chambliss No. 3 among quarterbacks and No. 116 among all players. Bleacher Report’s big board ranks Chambliss as the No. 4 quarterback and No. 75 overall prospect.
