Another week, another inactive designation for a Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie as the start of the Wild Card Game against the Houston Texans is almost upon us.
90 minutes before kickoff, the Steelers released their inactives list for the Wild Card Game vs. Houston, where it was revealed rookie running back Kaleb Johnson will be a healthy scratch for a fourth straight game and unfortunately won’t make his postseason debut.
Selected with the 83rd overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Johnson produced just 69 rushing yards and an abysmal 2.5 yards per carry through 10 games this season.
The Steelers have a tendency to ease rookies into the fold in their debut season, but there’s hope Johnson will take a big step forward in 2026, potentially forming the league’s most fearsome three-man running back core alongside Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell.
