On Monday, word came out that the NFL is suspending Pittsburgh Steelerswide receiver DK Metcalf for the final two games of the season for getting into a physical altercation with a Detroit Lions fan on Sunday. Metcalf was not flagged on the play but the NFL brought the hammer less than 24 hours later.
And now things could be even worse for Metcalf. According to CBS Sports, via Pittsburgh sports personality Andrew Fillipponi, if the team deems what Metcalf did and the subsequent suspension “conduct detrimental,” the Steelers would have a case to void the remaining $45 million in guaranteed money on his four-year, $132 million contract.
Holy cow: CBS Sports reports DK Metcalf’s suspension voids $45 million in guaranteed money. Maybe more. With the Steelers. What a costly mistake. pic.twitter.com/CivYCLFBY0

Given the Steelers’ loyalty to their players, we don’t expect them to take this action against Metcalf. Just in terms of salary, Metcalf stands to lose $277,778 per game, $555,556 total for the two games. There has been no word from the Steelers or Metcalf about if he will appeal the suspension.
