It wasn’t enough for Tyler Shough to lead a 97-yard scoring drive. The New Orleans Saints quarterback capped that drive by breaking Archie Manning’s rookie-season touchdown passes record on a 23-yard lob to wide receiver Chris Olave. Last week, Shough moved ahead of Manning and his teammate Spencer Rattler with the most passing yards in a Saints rookie season. Now he’s won the touchdowns record, too. He’s thrown seven of them (and counting) across seven starts.
This may say more about the many quarterbacks the Saints drafted since Manning was leading the team back in the day, but it’s still a win for Shough. It’s another feather in his cap as he continues to do his part in establishing a winning culture in the Saints locker room. All signs point to Shough being the team’s starter in 2026, and achievements like this are going to be used as a reason to support that decision.
