Week 15 ended with a satisfying win and a shutout by the Philadelphia Eagles‘ defense. Vic Fangio’s unit allowed ten points on Saturday, and the Eagles have snapped a 20-year streak, going back-to-back NFC East titles after a 29-18 Saturday night road win over the Washington Commanders. Philadelphia improved to 10-5 on the season and earned an automatic playoff berth.
It also breaks a two-decade-long jinx.
The NFC East hadn’t had a repeat winner since Philadelphia won four straight divisional titles from 2001-04. That was Andy Reid’s coaching era. We can now retire that discussion. As they were last season, they’re the rulers of the East again, and now, the goals change. Philadelphia hopes to make a run at the top seed in the NFC.
Eagles now have become the first team to repeat as NFC East champions since Philadelphia won division titles from 2001-2004.

The streak is over: The #Eagles have clinched the NFC East, winning it in back-to-back years and snapping a 20-year streak without consecutive division champions.

They’ll need to win out and get some help. The Seattle Seahawks need to lose a couple of games. It would also be helpful if the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams could stumble a bit.
