For the third time this season, Washington Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt has been named the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week.This time, it comes for his performance in the Commanders‘ 29-21 Week 15 win over the New York Giants that snapped an eight-game losing streak.

Croskey-Merritt led the game in rushing yards (96) on a game-high 18 carries, and scored the Commanders’ first touchdown of the afternoon to take a 10-0 lead over New York, which Washington would hold onto for the remainder of the game.
His touchdown capped off a four-play, 47-yard drive early in the second quarter, when he found a gap and burst 16 yards down the middle before being dragged down in the endzone.

Through Week 15, Croskey-Merritt now has 646 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, and has found the endzone in each of Washington’s four wins this season. In fact, when he hasn’t scored, the Commanders have failed to win a game.
Croskey-Merritt’s previous Rookie of the Week nods both came in wins for Washington. His first came in his pro debut in Week 1 against the Giants.
The 2025 seventh-round draft pick out of Arizona recorded 10 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown, averaging over eight yards per carry in Washington’s 21-6 victory over its divisional rival.

His second came the last time Washington won a game, in early October. He erupted for a career-high 150 rushing yards and two touchdowns, on just 14 carries, as the Commanders dominated the Chargers 27-10.

Washington has now had a player win the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week four times this season, with fourth-round draft pick Jaylin Lane earning the title in Week 3.
