Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is admittedly concerned about the problems New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and running back TreVeyon Henderson can cause for a defense.
The Patriots failed to come away with a victory last week against the Buffalo Bills, but they nearly upset the Bills for a second time this season with their explosive offensive plays. Henderson rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns, including runs for 52 yards and 65 yards.
And even though Maye looked human as a passer, he still scrambled for two touchdown runs in the game.
“Big plays, I think, is the biggest thing when you look at their offense,” Harbaugh told reporters. “They’ve just had a bunch of big plays, big runs. They have a rookie running back that’s fast, explosive. Boy, you better have your angle set up on him.
“They’re physical, obviously, and Maye’s made some nice throws, and sometimes, he runs around. But he’s made some big throws and play actions and things like that. Kind of a big-play offense that can run the ball. That’s a combination that you have to be concerned about.”
The Ravens have experienced a significant turnaround on the defensive side of the ball. It will fall on Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to draw up and expose every possible mismatch he can find.
And the players will have to find ways to execute that game plan on the road in Baltimore.
