Former UFC light heavyweight contender Tyson Pedro has signed with the PFL, he announced on Monday’s edition of “The Ariel Helwani Show.” The transition marks the next chapter in the Australian veteran’s combat sports career following his departure from the UFC last year, when he retired following a unanimous decision loss to Vitor Petrino.
Pedro (10-5), 34, competed for the UFC from 2016 through 2024 and amassed a 6-5 record in the promotion. Overall, Pedro will enter the PFL with a 10-5 record.
The move to the PFL represents a return to MMA competition under a new banner after he spent the past year focusing on other combat sports pursuits, including a professional boxing debut in 202,5 where he secured a seventh-round knockout. Known for his early UFC finishes and resilience through injury layoffs, Pedro has scored notable wins over Khalil Rountree Jr. and Paul Craig.
Details on his PFL debut have not yet been fully announced, but the addition of Pedro adds a recognizable name to the promotion’s growing roster as PFL continues to expand its global MMA footprint into 2026 and beyond.
