Patrick Mahomes went down in the final minute of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ loss on Sunday to the Chargers. He hurt his left knee.
It was a brutal day anyway. The loss ended the Chiefs’ chances of making the playoffs.
But the Mahomes injury made it worse.

Yes, Mahomes tore his ACL.
The Chiefs announced that injury diagnosis on Sunday night at about 7:20 p.m. ET, 6:20 p.m. CT.
That will end Mahomes’ season and make it tough for him to be back for Week 1 in 2026.
Gardner Minshew, his backup, will start the remainder of the season for the Chiefs.
