Even at 3-11, the Cleveland Browns are finding ways to hit new lows.
Sunday’s 31-3 loss to the Chicago Bears feels like it could be a breaking point for this franchise. The effort was so bad — particularly on offense — that major changes to the team’s roster and coaching staff this offseason now feel inevitable.
Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders certainly didn’t play well, as his stat line may indicate, but he wasn’t solely responsible for Cleveland’s blowout loss. Key drops, the lack of any sort of rhythm in the run game, and baffling coaching decisions were also major culprits in such an embarrassing performance by the Browns.
Let’s dive into how Browns fans are reacting to the team’s performance in Week 15.
Sanders’ struggles
The fifth-round pick’s efforts against Chicago amounted to the worst showing of his young NFL career so far. Sanders completed just 18 of his 35 pass attempts for 177 yards and three interceptions and a passer rating of just 30.3, while also taking five sacks for a loss of 35 yards. Despite the overall struggles, though, Sanders still had moments of flashing his arm talent as he has throughout the year, completing two 40-plus-yard deep bombs to Isaiah Bond. As a result, reactions to Sanders’ performance were mixed.
just a really, really long way to go with shedeur pic.twitter.com/YKlph39Jvc

Even in ugly games like this, the flashes are there for Shedeur. He’s the talent many thought he was

Shedeur has a ton of potential and a lot to clean up…as any rookie QB in their 3rd start should. But for him to succeed, he will need a competent organization that believes in him and builds around his skill set.

My take on Shedeur today:
Didn’t think he showed anything that changed the way I think about his potential as a franchise QB
Some great throws. Some rookie decisions / throws. Some bad play around him. Some self inflicted wounds.
Let’s see how next week goes #DawgPound

I’ve seen enough from Shedeur Sanders to feel confident that he can be very successful with a real NFL line and real NFL receivers. And a new coaching staff.
— The Dawgs – A Cleveland Browns Podcast (@thedawgspodcast) December 14, 2025
I love Shedeur, but he plays hero ball. He wants to make plays for his team, being the QB I get it. But he has to learn it won’t always be that way. Rookie mistakes, but plenty to build on and develop. #ShedeurSanders#DawgPound#brownsvsbears

We’re still riding with Shedeur. Offense was out schemed from the first snap. No run game. Immediate pressure. On to next week. Reece and Stefanski need to be less predictable. #Browns#Dawgpound

Shedeur just wants to see 22.5. What a team player. #DawgPound
— Christian Rudloff (@MUSinfonian) December 14, 2025
This @Browns offense is a JOKE. Shedeur needs protection and receivers that can catch a damn pass. Promote Schwartz, hire a legit OC, DO NOT DRAFT A QB, and fix the line and WR room in the draft. Hear our prayers @JDubsIII#DawgPound
— BigRay87 (@RayMichael87) December 14, 2025
I’m still all in on Shedeur Sanders, but man this is a terrible showing. Absolutely brutal.#DawgPound

The coaching staff… yet again
It’s over.
Kevin Stefanski won’t be fired tomorrow morning, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to see a scenario where he’s coaching the Browns in 2026. Efforts like today’s from the offense — 192 total yards and 3.4 yards per play against a defense that has been been below average this season — make that conclusion feel inevitable.

You are 3-10, it is 4th and inches at the 40, and you bring out the punter?
Stefanski is just ready to go home and be a family man— Robert Littal BSO (@BSO) December 14, 2025
I swear Kevin Stefanski is daring management to fire him every week lol

Browns gotta fire Stefanski and move forward with Shedeur.

Ben Johnson and his staff is light years ahead of the Stefanski and crew. It’s embarrassing
— T.J. Ward (@BossWard43) December 14, 2025
I can’t imagine watching this Browns team and thinking Kevin Stefanski deserves another year.
— Guardians of The Land (@OurCLEGuardians) December 14, 2025
Have stopped being mad that Kevin Stefanski is still employed and just started laughing at every dumb thing he does
— Bob P. Dubz (@DubzBob) December 14, 2025
Cannot think of a reason that Kevin Stefanski should continue as the Browns coach.
Jim Schwartz or Tommy Rees as the interim to finish the season makes much more sense.— Doug Lesmerises (@DougLesmerises) December 14, 2025
Saying this now before we move onto next week:
This #Browns team is two years away from being two years away.
If you want to clean house, or just clear out the coaching staff, I’m all for either.
But this team, in its current state, can’t continue past this season. There has…
— Bill Sparks (@SparkScouting) December 14, 2025
leave the coaching staff on the tarmac type of vibes
— Jordan Zirm (@JordanZirm) December 14, 2025
I just can’t do this anymore. This entire coaching staff has to go. Worst-coached team in the league.

A bizarre new low?
In a season full of strange moments, Sunday’s loss to the Bears provided one of the weirder moments for the 2025 Browns. Early in the game, Sanders appeared to be having an equipment issue — which, as it turns out, was the result of his wristband not having the correct sheet of plays in it. Sanders later clarified (in the first clip below) that this was a result of his play sheet falling out of the wristband — and not, as plenty of fans assumed, because the coaching staff supplied him with the wrong sheet — but the moment still led to plenty of reactions due to the absurdity of it.
“The card just fell out. It just fell out on the sideline. That was it.” #Browns QB Shedeur Sanders on the wristband issue early in the game https://t.co/rIPnk7crtHpic.twitter.com/ItbgiVlhVK
— 92.3 The Fan (@923TheFan) December 14, 2025
Kevin had him wearing last week’s wristband. “That’s on me. Gotta get that fixed.”
— Mike Bormann (@chicobormann) December 14, 2025
Did the commentators just say that the Browns had the wrong call sheet in his wristband????????
— Joey Ricottone Jr (@joeyricottone) December 14, 2025
Shedeur Sanders not having the right quarterback wristband is a new one, even for the Browns.
— Ben Axelrod (@BenAxelrod) December 14, 2025
“They removed his wristband and made some changes to the play calls.”
The Browns gave Shedeur the wrong wristband??? pic.twitter.com/VUOxeQkyNC
— Jonathan Smith (@DegenerateTBone) December 14, 2025
This is a new one. Allison Willliams reports that the Browns removed Shedeur’s play-calling wristband after the 1st quarter and they made changes to it. It sounds like Shedeur was wearing the wrong wristband? Never have I ever seen this happen. pic.twitter.com/XxODkUkU61
— Roberto Shenanigans (@Rob_Shenanigans) December 14, 2025
A high-organization like the Browns could NEVER give a starting QB the wrong wristband – man fire them all dawg 🤣 live television https://t.co/s3kohhMgSu

The Browns gave Shedeur the wrong wristband in the 1st half lol
Unreal. Everything is all accidental https://t.co/ONF21ttG0k

The wristband wasn’t right.
What a team 😂😂😂
— KardiacKid (@TheKardiac_Kid) December 14, 2025
Literally not what that means and he’s responsible for his own wristband lol. The coaches aren’t doing it for him. Have any of you ever played at all? https://t.co/ty0dB5JEzu
