🏀BOYS BASKETBALL – Division I
Smithfield 65, Johnston 34
Corey Blakely led all scorers with 17 points, Christian Snowman added 11 and Luke Dwyer had 10 as the Sentinels rolled past the Panthers in this early season Division I showdown. For Johnston, Jordan Diclo had 9 points in the loss.
Lincoln 64, North Kingstown 29
The Lions were firing on all cylinders as four players reached double-figures for Lincoln. Gianni Pagios led the way with 20 points, and Andrew Picozzi, Jarett O’Hagan and Nick Boudjouk each tallied 10 points in the victor. Josh Bergeron returned from an ACL injury to add 5 points. For the Skippers, Cooper Berthelot scored a team-high 14 points and Jake Perry had 7 in the loss.
Westerly 79, Narragansett 54
The Bulldogs’ Brayden Antoch led all scorers with 16 points. Anthony Rodriguez contributed 14 and Farris Nader finished with 12 points. Luigi Marchionne helped out with 9 rebounds.Derrick Lindsey led the Mariners with 12 points.
East Providence 62, Tiverton 37
Robert Cardoso Mason scored a team-high 20 points and teammate Jayden Vazadded 16 as the Division I Townies cruised to a nonleague win over the Division III Tigers. Jase Kelly scored 20 for Tiverton in the loss and Mason Lazar added 7.
🏀BOYS BASKETBALL – Division II
Prout 66, South Kingstown 63
Prout had four players reach double digits in scoring and Ryan Antonucci and needed all the at scoring to edge the Rebels. Leading the way for the Crusaders was Ryan Antonucci with 19 points, Michael Brugnoli with 14 points, Christian Pachis with 13 points and Cooper Sweeney with 11.
South Kingstown’s Jack Simonini led all scorers with 25 points and teammate James Wilson followed that with 17 points, including 3 three pointers.
Exeter-West Greenwich 65, Chariho 51
The Scarlet Knights used a 27-point second quarter to take a 36-32 point lead at the half and never looked back as they rolled to victory over the Chargers. Matt Chartier led the way for EWG with 17 points, including 3 threes, and teammate Brody Samson finished with 14 points, including 12 in second half.
Riley Conroy scored17 for Chariho and teammate Dayton Lee added 14 in the loss.
🏀BOYS BASKETBALL – Division III
Davies 77, Block Island 20
The outstanding play of Albert Medrano, who had 22 points, 6 steals and 6 rebounds, paved the way for the Patriots’ win over the Hurricanes. Also figuring in the win were EJ Baptiste and Kingston Gomperts, who had 13 points each, and Ramon Reyes, who led the team in rebounds with 8. The Davies defense was solid throughout, amassing 25 steals in the contest.

🏀GIRLS BASKETBALL – Division I
Barrington 65, Chariho 52
Barrington raced out to a 22-1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back on their way to a 65-52 victory over Chariho. The Eagles were led by Genesis Castro with 18 points and 7 steals, Faith Van Ness with 14 points, and Ella Martin and Keira Martin chipped in each with 11 points.
Tessa Aiello led the way for the Chargers with 19 points to lead all scorers.
St. Raphael 43, Cumberland 28
Ten Saints players scored in the crossover win, led by Leilani Delgado with 11 points, Olivia Alcantara and Carolyn Abreu each added 8.
Ponaganset 59, Smithfield 36
There were no answers for the Chieftains’ Marron Nerney, who led all scorers with 24 points, including five 3-pointers, as she paced Division I Ponaganset past Division II Smithfield. The Chieftains dropped 23 points in the fourth quarter to put a stamp on the win. For Smithfield, Elaina Reed and Annabellae Lally each had 11 in the loss.
🏀GIRLS BASKETBALL – Division II
Burrillville 42, Toll Gate 27
The Division II Broncos raced out to a 9-point lead at the break and never looked back. MacKenzie Stone led the way with a game-high 14 points, Avery Bousquet netted 11 and Brooke Lambert added 8 in this crossover victory. For the Division II Titans, Addison Eddy had a team-best 9 points and Aria Eddy added 8.
Narragansett 29, Prout 20
A solid effort by Delaney Bonneau paved (14 points) paved the way for the Narragansett’s win over Prout in a low scoring encounter. Ella Boyd and Nina Leonard had 4 points each for the Mariners in the win.
For the Crusaders, Lauren Gill and Katie LaPlante had 5 points each in the loss.
Exeter-West Greenwich 50, East Greenwich 33
Kate Hebert led the Patriots to the victory by scoring 10 points, handing out 6 assists and making 4 steals. She got help from Brielle Frenette, who had 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Nini Olawuyi also had 9 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.For the Avengers, Chloe Hartman had 11 points and Quinlan Darcey scored 7.
🏀GIRLS BASKETBALL – Division III
Pilgrim 41, Middletown 16
Natalie Saratus scored a game-high 18 points, 12 of them in the second half, as the Patriots upended the Islanders. Pilgrim had a 20-4 run in the second frame to put the game away. Skyler Hawes and Lia Wasilewski each had 8 points in the victory.
Sadie Maloney led the Islanders with 7 points

🏒BOYS ICE HOCKEY – Division I
Moses Brown 4, Smithfield 2
The Quakers struck early as Pierce Andrian scored first and Joe Magiera added another on the power play. The Sentinels cut the deficit to 2-1 when Ashton Brochu scored with just 2 seconds left in the first period. Moses Brown added to its lead when Brantley Abney scored an unassisted goal early in the second.
The hosts scored just 19 seconds later on a Jacob Sylvester goal to make it a 1-score game heading into the final frame. Moses Brown’s Matt Azevedo potted the final score on the power play to seal the win. In net, Moses Brown’s Alan Jaffe made 28 saves, while Smithfield’s Matthew Bradley made 36 saves in the loss.
🏊GIRLS SWIMMING
SK/Narragansett Co-op 48, Prout 44.5
Narragansett’s Colleen O’Brien captured two races – the 50 and 100 free – leading the way for the Mariner’s win over Prout.
Despite the loss, the Crusaders got a yeoman effort from Lizzie Rak, who captured 2 individual races (100 fly, 100 backstroke) and also participated in the winning 100 medley relay and the 400 free relay.
