Florida center Jake Slaughter was named a Second Team All-American on Wednesday by The Athletic.
This is Slaughter’s third All-America nod following the 2025 season. Sporting News named him to its first team, and USA TODAY Sports named him to its second team. Slaughter is also an All-SEC First Team member, a Rimington Trophy Finalist, and he made the watch list for the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy. Before heading to the 2026 NFL draft, Slaughter will play one final collegiate game in the Panini Senior Bowl.
Iowa’s Logan Jones earned first-team honors from The Athletic. Jones allowed three pressures in 310 pass-blocking snaps without being flagged for one penalty. Slaughter allowed two quarterback hurries, one sack and one quarterback hit this season. Pro Football Focus gave Slaughter an 78.9 overall offensive grade, which is the fifth-best among FBS centers. His 78.3 run-blocking grade was also fifth-best in the nation, while his 87.1 pass-blocking rating ranked eighth.
Slaughter is considered one of the top centers in the upcoming NFL draft. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranks him No. 7 among interior offensive linemen, with Auburn‘s Connor Lew (No. 3), Michigan State‘s Matt Gulbin (No. 4) and Jones (No. 6) being the three centers ranked ahead of him.
