Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is ready to get back on the court. Clark told reporters on the first day of training camp for the USA Basketball senior national team that she feels fully healthy.
“I’m at 100 percent,” Clark said. “Obviously, I need to knock off a little bit of rust and get my lungs back but my body feels really good. I feel like I’m in a really good spot, my main goal is just staying that way.”
Clark, 23, played only 13 games last season after dealing with right groin, left quad, and left groin injuries at various points in the season.
The 2024 number one overall pick had been fairly healthy since her college days at the University of Iowa. She never missed a game at Iowa or during her rookie year. The injuries also slowed down Clark’s production on offense last season.

Last season, Clark averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds, going 36.7 % from the field and 27.9% from 3. In Clark’s absence, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston helped the Fever go 24-20 and had their first winning season since 2015. The Fever were able to advance to the semifinals before losing to the Los Vegas Aces.
In her rookie season, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds, going 41.7 % from the field and 34.4% from 3. Clark helped lead her team to the first round of the 2024 playoffs before losing to the Connecticut Sun.
Clark is set to make her national team debut alongside the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese, the Dallas Wings’ Paige Bueckers and USC’s JuJu Watkins. Watkins will not participate in camp as she continues to recover from an ACL tear.
Clark, Bueckers and Watkins won gold medals with USA Basketball in junior competitions. While Reese was part of Team USA at the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup. Boston is also competing in training camp.
Women’s national team managing director Sue Bird will decide who will be on the team for the 2026 FIBA World Cup in Sept. 2026.
