Greenville 19
Bonham jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back during a 43-19 non-district girls basketball victory over the Greenville Lady Lions.
Bomham led 18-3 after one quarter, 27-8 at halftime and 36-12 after three quarters.
Jenna Lindsey fired in 16 points and Gray Lancaster shot in 11 to lead Bonham, which is now 8-5 for the season.
Azyria Jackson led the Lady Lions with 10 points as they dropped to 2-10 for the season.
The Lady Lions have one more non-district game remaining on Friday at Sanger before they open District 9-5A play at home on Tuesday against Melissa.

Cumby tourney
starts Thursday
CUMBY — The Cumby boys basketball tournament tips off on Thursday.
It will feature 10 teams. In Pool A are Cumby, Wolfe City, Paris Chisum junior varsity, Bonham junior varsity and Unity Academy.
In Pool B are Celeste, the Commerce JV, Yantis, the Community JV and Winnsboro.
Yantis beat Cumby 62-59 in overtime to win last year’s tournament. C.J. Madison led the victors with 27 points, including all seven of the Owls’ points in overtime.
Chett Vaughan led Cumby and all scorers in that game with 30 points.
The tournament continues through Saturday, with the champiponship game scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

SIMMS — James Bowie outscored Cumby 84-58 in non-district boys basketball on Tuesday.
Cumby, which will be competing in its tournament this week, picked up 26 points from Chayton Vaughan, 15 from Jace Evans and 12 from Montgomery Benton.
Vaughan, who was 4-of-11 from 3-point range, also had four rebounds, a steal and two blocked shots.
Evans also recorded six rebounds and an assist.

ROYSE CITY — Royse City’s Lady Bulldogs tuned up for the start of District 10-6A play with a 34-26 non-district win over Sherman.
Royse City, now 13-3 for the season, will open district play at home on Friday against Rockwall.
Royse City spread the scoring out against Sherman with Jaia Rector leading with eight points, Chloe Bradley scoring seven and Gabby Thompson and Gracie Ellington both adding six points.
Brynlee Brown and Marisa Kehrer both scored five points to lead Sherman, which dropped to 6-10 for the season.
