Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore has been fired, the Free Pre
Moore went 16-8 during his two seasons as head coach of the Wolverines in 2024 and 2025 after taking over for Jim Harbaugh the year following U-M’s national championship. Moore has been on staff since 2018 going from tight ends coach to offensive line coach and then offensive coordinator before athletic director Warde Manuel named him head man in January 2024.
Michigan went 9-3 in 2025 and is scheduled to play Texas (9-3) in the Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. It is not immediately clear who will serve as the interim coach.
Moore met with media earlier in the week to preview the game.
Biff Poggi will serve as the interim coach.
