Iowa (9-0, 1-0 Big Ten) is readying for one of the week’s top showdowns as it renews its in-state series against No. 10 Iowa State (10-0).
The 12th-ranked Hawkeyes travel to Hilton Coliseum to battle the Cyclones on Wednesday night in a nationally-televised game.
In its Big Ten-mandated availability report, the Hawkeyes shared good news ahead of its matchup at Iowa State. Iowa head women’s basketball coach Jan Jensen said on Tuesday that it expected sophomore guard Chit-Chat Wright to be available.
The availability report reflected that bit of good news. Only sophomore Emely Rodriguez was listed as “out.” Sophomore guard Teagan Mallegni has been out since she had her tonsils removed and Jensen had indicated on Tuesday that both Mallegni and Rodriguez were still working their ways back.

Wright had been dealing with an upper-body injury that she suffered against Baylor on Nov. 20. In her first game returning to action last weekend, Wright played just eight minutes and exited after the first quarter against Rutgers.
Iowa tips off at Iowa State at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN with play-by-play voice Ryan Ruocco on the call alongside color commentator Rebbeca Lobo.
The Hawkeyes look to continue their recent string of dominance over the Cyclones as the teams renew the in-state rivalry. Iowa has won three in a row over Iowa State and eight of the past nine. Nine of the last 11 meetings between the two squads have been decided by 10 points or fewer.
