A former LSU football quarterback is on the move again. Max Johnson is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.
It will be Johnson’s third stint in the portal as he looks for his fourth school. His most recent stop was North Carolina, where he played for two seasons. In 2025, he appeared in four games with one start. During the 2024 season opener, he suffered a season-ending injury.
Prior to playing in Chapel Hill, Johnson spent two years at Texas A&M. He started eight games in College Station and dealt with an injury in 2022. He signed with LSU as part of the 2020 class and saw the field as a true freshman before earning the starting role in 2021. After a coaching change, Johnson decided to transfer.
