Two men have been gunned down in separate shooting incidents in the Viking Park area near Elsies River, on the Cape Flats, on Friday morning.
Police spokesperson, FC van Wyk, says in the first incident, unknown gunmen shot and killed a 31-year-old man inside a barber shop.
“We have also opened a murder and attempted murder case after a separate shooting incident on a field opposite Viking Park, in the direction of Ruyterwacht. An unidentified male was shot and killed. It is currently unknown if another person was also injured during this incident because he fled the scene in an unknown direction. The motive for both shootings forms part of our police investigation.”
