When it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers, everyone knows who the big names are. Guys like Aaron Rodgers, Cameron Heyward and T.J. Watt are well known and garner all the headlines. But if the Steelers are finally going to get that elusive playoff win, it is going to take a team effort, and it will mean these four sleeper Steelers who we want to see break out in 2026.
DT Yahya Black
There’s a real possibility that Black is the No. 4 defensive lineman on the roster and the primary backup to all three starters. He did a solid job filling in for Derrick Harmon last season but the run defense suffered and this is where he has a chance to really impress this season.
S Sebastian Castro
The Steelers thought enough to Castro last year to keep him around and with the lack of depth at safety, Castro is a strong training camp and preseason away from being part of the regular safety rotation.
OT Dylan Cook
Right now, Dylan Cook is holding down the starting right tackle spot and if he can play well enough to keep rookie Max Iheanachor on the bench, it means he’s stepped up and taken that next step as a starter.
WR Roman Wilson
It’s easy to assume Germie Bernard is going to just automatically be the No. 3 wide receiver but we aren’t ready to write off Roman Wilson in Mike McCarthy’s offense yet.
RB Jaylen Warren
It might not make sense to include Jaylen Warren in this but Warren has never rushed for 1,000 yards in a season. He’s going to get pushed by Rico Dowdle but that might be just what he needs to take the next step.
