The WNBA loves Caitlin Clark — the highlight-reel playmaking, the deep 3-pointers, the marketing boost she has provided.
WNBA fans love Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever guard — now a three-time All-Star starter as of Thursday — has been credited with bringing heaps of new fans to the league, and her popularity has been cemented in the form of the Caitlin 1s, her first Nike signature shoe that is set for release in October.
But WNBA players are not as enamored with Clark, as the All-Star voting results made clear.
Clark finished a surprising 11th among her peers in the player vote to determine All-Star starters at the guard position.
Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Sonia Citron and Marina Mabrey all were viewed more favorably by their peers. Each of those guards had a higher player vote score than Clark.
However, because the WNBA weights scores with fan and media input as well as player input, Clark finished third of the four guards who were selected to start the All-Star showcase in Chicago on July 25.

There is so much talent in the WNBA now, especially among the guards — where Clark will have to contend with Paige Bueckers and Olivia Miles in the years to come.
Clark has responded to the challenge — especially after injuries derailed her 2025 season — by posting a career-high 21.2 points per game in her 17 games played to date.
However, the player vote results does lend some credence to the idea that Clark’s colleagues are not as enamored with her game or her attitude as fans and media members are.
