Western Cape Traffic authorities have confirmed that 15 people have died in a bus accident on the N1 near Touwrivier on Thursday morning.
Provincial Traffic Chief Maxine Bezuidenhout says the accident occurred just after midnight when the bus overturned with 73 passengers on board.
Two more people sustained serious injuries.
Bezuidenhout says emergency services remain on scene.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a repatriation bus travelling from KwaZulu-Natal overturned on the N1 near the Beitbridge Border post in Limpopo, killing the driver.
At least 11 other people were injured in the crash and have been rushed to the Musina hospital.
It is understood that the bus was travelling from Durban to a repatriation camp in Musina.
