President Cyril Ramphosa has made changes to his executive.
Willie Aucamp has been appointed as the Minister of Agriculture, whilst David Maynier replaces him as Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment.
Dina Pule, who once served as a Deputy Minister of Communications and the Deputy Minister in the Presidency under former President Jacob Zuma’s administration has now been appointed as the Minister of Social Development, replacing Sisisi Tolashe who was dismissed by the President in May.
The President in accordance with section 93 (1)(a) of the Constitution has further appointed Jack Bloom, who once served in the Gauteng Legislature as Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation.
Alexandra Abrahams comes in as Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy whilst Yusuf Cassim will be Deputy Minister of Higher Education.
John Steenhuisen who served as Minister of Agriculture has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition.
This comes after the DA leader, Geordin Hill-Lewis wrote a letter to President Ramaphosa requesting several changes to the party’s deployees in the executive.
