Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man in Newclare, west of Johannesburg.
The victim was shot and killed on Tuesday morning after he was allegedly ambushed by two unidentified assailants.
Police believe the shooting may be linked to gang-related violence.
Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says no arrests have been made.
Nevhuhulwi says, “It is reported that the victim was walking past Steytler Street and Dowling Street when he was approached by two unknown men who opened fire on him before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead. The motive of the shooting is suspected to be gang-related. Police investigations are underway.”
