The Forum 4 Service Delivery (F4SD) in the Free State has welcomed the closure of spaza shops owned by foreign nationals around the Mangaung Metro.
The F4SD’s Potso Motoko says, “If foreign nationals are forced then that is not what we are anticipating and that is not what we like.”
“Also, we are against the looting; people should not loot shops just because they want foreigners to leave and if they are genuinely closing their shops, it’s because they know they do not have permits and other documents, they are illegal in the country then that is welcomed, we are okay, we are more than happy if they do that and they are illegal immigrants and they do not have the permits to run those shops, they must close,” adds Motoko.
