Hezbollah on Thursday denied the Israeli army’s claim that it had killed members of the group in an air strike on the southern Lebanese town of Zawtar al-Sharqiya. The group said those killed were civilians and described the attack as a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire agreement. In a statement, Hezbollah said the Israeli army had “once again deliberately targeted Lebanese civilians who were on their way to inspect their homes on the Zawtar al-Sharqiya road under the pretext that they posed a threat to its occupying forces.” It added that the attack, carried out at 2:40 pm local time (11:40 GMT) by an Israeli drone strike, killed two civilians who were directly targeted and wounded a third person.
