One of the state’s top high school football prospects is headed to Kentucky.
Warren Central four-star linebacker Sean Fox announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Thursday while attending “The Opening Finals” in Oregon. The 6-5, 225-pound Fox, rated as the No. 2 prospect in the state by 247sports behind Lawrence North five-star receiver Monshun Sales, took official visits to Kentucky, Clemson and Georgia before making his decision.
Fox made 91 tackles as a junior, including 9 ½ for a loss, along with five sacks and three forced fumbles. The rangy linebacker saw his recruitment take off in recent months, resulting in high interest from several Power Four conference programs.
“He has a 38-inch vertical, he’s strong and he went to the Nike event and ran a 4.6-second 40, which is really good,” Whitaker said recently. “He bends really well, too, which is something taller guys sometimes don’t do as well. That’s not an issue for him. We’re going to use him in multiple ways depending on who we play. There will be game-plan specific roles for him based on the offenses we’re defending.”
Fox’s versatility is a quality that also attracts college coaches.
“One of the main things they’ve talked to me about is being able to do different things at a high level,” he said. “Being able to do multiple things and being violent at the point of attack. That’s what they say to me.”
Fox is the third four-star commit in the 2027 class for Kentucky and 24th overall.
