The alleged underworld kingpin Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala will be separated from his 16 co-accused in the Medicare 24 Tshwane District matter.
Matlala appeared briefly in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning and is expected to appear before the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday.
The arrests linked to the Medicare 24 Tshwane District contract saga stem from allegations of corruption and fraud involving the awarding of a multimillion-rand tender.
Matlala’s co-accused, which include suspended police commissioner Fannie Masemola, are due back in court on Friday.
