The Florida State Seminoles have gotten seven commitments in the 2027 cycle this month. More importantly, players are shutting down their recruitments.
On Sunday, three-star safety Jemari Foreman let it be known that he was sticking with the Seminoles after a strong push from the Louisville Cardinals. On Monday night, four-star linebacker Jernard Albright took to his Instagram page to announce that his recruitment was shut down as well.
There was no indication that any other school had a chance to flip Albright. However, this is a big-time development as he is currently the top-ranked prospect in the 2027 class for FSU. Three-star linebacker CJ Ohuabunwa also pledged to Florida State on Monday, which means linebackers coach Ernie Sims is on quite a roll. They also have three-star Olrick Johnson III committed at the position.
Albright is ranked as the No. 142 overall player and No. 14 safety in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 17 player from Georgia.
FSU could add four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune and three-star running back Marquis Fennell later this week. If so, their recruiting class will take a pretty good leap in the rankings.
