Ukraine’s Air Force has struck and critically damaged a bridge that Russian forces rely on to supply their troops in occupied southern Ukraine, south of Zaporizhzhia city, Militarnyi reported. The strike hit a river crossing in the Russian-held town of Vasylivka, one of the main transport hubs in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Cutting it is meant to choke the flow of reinforcements and gear to the front.
A direct hit on the Karachokrak River crossing
Aviation of Ukraine’s Air Force struck the bridge over the Karachokrak River at occupied Vasylivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, with the front line running just to its north. The Telegram channel Soniah released the airstrike video.
Footage from the site, published online soon after, shows the crossing critically damaged, and more of the footage showing the outcome of the strike appeared online. The clip shot right after the hit shows serious damage to the roadway of the automobile bridge.
The crossing sits on one of the key logistics routes for Russian occupation forces in southern Ukraine. Routes through it linked occupied districts of the region with Russian rear bases.
Those bases feed troops trying to advance toward the city of Zaporizhzhia. Disabling the bridge can sharply complicate moving reinforcements, equipment, and ammunition on this direction.

Part of a wider campaign to cut Russia’s southern logistics
The airstrike fits a systematic campaign by Ukraine’s Defense Forces to sever Russian supply routes, especially in the south. Overnight on 20 June, Ukrainian forces struck the road bridge over the Henichesk Strait near occupied Henichesk in Kherson Oblast, a crossing Russia uses for military logistics. Ukrainian forces also hit three railway bridges that form critical parts of Russia’s military logistics in Ukraine’s south, including Crimea.
